Jon, together with his wife Carol, are founding members of HearthStone. Jon’s background in marketing communications has provided the skills needed to be a successful advocate for his son, who is challenged with Asperger’s, but also for ALL people with differing abilities. He is passionate about helping people with disabilities live, work and play in the community with dignity and respect.

Larry and his wife, Mary Kay Vincent-Samet, have two daughters, one of which has a developmental disability. They have resided in Sheboygan County for the last 40 years. They believe this community has much to offer and provides many opportunities to give back. For over 23 years, he has been a Board Member of the Sheboygan Area School District, a member of Kiwanis, the Police and Fire Commissions, the Sheboygan County Health and Human Services Committee, Camp Evergreen, and the Sheboygan Senior Community Board of Directors. Larry truly "believes in Sheboygan."

Leah has a heart for people with disabilities as three of her brothers have autism. She provides care for them part-time and really strives to make special days, just for them. Leah has a background in journalism, social media, and writing, having worked as former top editor of the Sheboygan Press for several years. Leah also serves with Pine Haven Christian Communities in residential and the memory ward, as an ELL tutor for the Literacy Council of Sheboygan County and in various Christian ministries through Word of Grace Church. Leah loves developing marketing strategies through videography, photography, writing, web design and social media.

Alex's background with individuals with disabilities comes through his wife and her brothers. She has shown him how to love people in differing situations and life journeys than himself and shown him a whole new world. Alex has a background in accounting, finance, and IT, which help in his role as Treasurer and Marketing Committee.

Kathy is a retired social worker with a combination of over 30 years of experience working primarily with adults with a developmental disability for RCS Empowers and then for Sheboygan County. She feels fortunate to serve as a volunteer guardian through Sheboygan County for a young man with a developmental disability. Being on the board of directors for Hearthstone allows her to continue directing her passion to improve the life of individuals with a disability and their families.

Patti and her son, Eric Bosch, live in Sheboygan Falls. Patti and Eric checked out HearthStone and its events to broaden Eric’s social circles, “Mom, I want to go out and meet new people!” Patti is semi-retired after 34 years of service with Lakeshore Technical College. She has an extensive background in designing and providing career development and educational opportunities and programming for special population students. She represents HearthStone on the Family Caregivers Coalition in Sheboygan County Steering Committee.

Angie Shaw

With HearthStone: 9 months

Angie was born and raised in Sheboygan. She and her husband Ryan have three beautiful children together. Mateo and McHale were born as conjoined twins, connected at their lower backs, spinal cords and sacral bones. They were successfully separated in a 19.5-hour surgery and have spina bifida and hydrocephalus as their life-long disability. Their little brother's name is Maddux. She was inspired to spearhead the Shaw Family Playground - Sheboygan County’s first fully inclusive playground, where she connected with HearthStone, a major contributor. She is a member of the Sheboygan Christian School Board and a youth group leader.

Jill, born and raised in Sheboygan, is married with three sons, and has a passion for volunteering and helping others. She currently works as an office Administrator at Edward Jones in Sheboygan. Jill has spent 25 years working with the elderly and individuals with disabilities through Sheboygan County Health and Human Services and the ADRC. Jill is part of HearthStone because community involvement and helping others makes her happy, and also the smiles, hugs, and thanks received from our young people at social outings is so heartfelt and rewarding in and of itself.

Kris currently volunteers at RCS Empowers, and was a teacher for 34 years. She always looks for ways to help children with disabilities succeed in the classroom, and now with their careers. Kris is the mother of a daughter with a cognitive disability, who is attending RCS and works part-time in the community.

Christopher is our Youth Representative to the Board. He helps to provide perspective from the standpoint of our young people with disabilities.
